Art & Design

Oak Over Main’s architecture was guided by the original steel structure of the building, showcased through exposed steel pillars, beams, and other distinctive details. In contrast to the urban feel of our architecture, we selected art and furnishings inspired by the surrounding landscape and by the rich cultural history of Highlands. Materials such as wood, wool, furs and leather create a cozy ambiance that feels perfectly at home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A majority of our art was found locally or purchased from North Carolina based artists. We also partnered with local craftspeople to create bespoke pieces for our lofts including sculptural art pieces, side tables, and blown glass and fabric light fixtures. Please see some of these incredible artists highlighted below.
